| Unit 2 Exploration ASSIGNMENT Develop a concept of a daily route by bike from home to work and from work to home. That ideal dream route is translated on a route in Utrecht, starting point is Ledig Erf (old city) going on to the Uithof (campus). IDEAL DAILY ROUTE My dream begins in a small room in the big city. It is beginning to dawn to me that my adventure begins. It is the beginning of a fantastic journey. The route from home to work or the other way around, that is my adventures journey. It is a route that will bring me to my destiny. But along the way it will take me into different worlds that make me happy and curious. It amazes me. There will be people in those worlds that will have sometimes the same and sometimes different goals. I will cross city and landscape, but I will not lose the way. I follow the cycle path, because he is my best friend. My best friend will take me anywhere. I see the beauty of masses and compositions in the city; sometimes they are hard and sometimes soft. I can hear, feel, and smell the adventure. I feel that it is al different. Every path is another adventure. There is difference in character, atmosphere en days. My route, my adventure is exciting never uncomfortable or boring. I do not get bored with my own dream. CONCEPT OF A IDEAL DAILY ROUTE Awakening of different areas or spheres The route; The route contains different amount of routes. All these routes have a different story to tell. At this moment the route is to long and not interesting enough. You have the feeling that it is al the same. At least that is the feeling you experience on the bike. In the route; from the old centre of the city to the campus I want to make accents on the three viaducten when you pass by. That because they form transition areas between the links. The viaducten have to make accents on the perception of the route. Both sides are important for the route. A stronger transition between the areas from link to link will make it more interesting and the passenger will observe more. So the route will feel shorter than it is and less boring. In spite of the accents the links will be important as well. Every link has to bring a feeling or movement from the other link. It will be an on going movement with no resting or stop place. Every link will have a typical character and sphere. That will give more excitement en spontaneous situations and places. [email protected] |
